The SEBI Islamic Economics College Library in collaboration with the Student Association (HIMA) at STEI SEBI held the 2nd Information Literacy Class event in this even semester. KLI # 2 was held on Sunday (21/3). The event which was attended by STEI SEBI students, mainly batch 2018, was a series of events from KLI # 1 that had been previously held. On this occasion, Fahma Rianti who is the head of the STEI SEBI library said,
"The purpose of this activity is to improve students' skills in writing scientific papers, including paraphrasing skills to avoid plagiarism in quoting, skills in making effective sentences, and understanding PUEBI (General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling)".
The resource person who delivered material at this event was Fitria Pratiwi, S.S., M.Hum., He is a lecturer in Indonesian language and also business communication who has taught at STEI SEBI. This online event raised the topic of Indonesian language standards for scientific writing. In addition to delivering the material, on this occasion the participants were also directly guided to practice the material that was being delivered.
When delivering the material, Fitria said "One form of scientific work that you have to make at the undergraduate level is a thesis, and in general this thesis is a requirement for completing S1 lectures". The material that he delivered at the event entitled this workshop focused on discussing technical writing in the final project or thesis.
In addition to listening to the material presented by the resource person, the participants were also guided in applying the material directly. The hope is that this event can provide an overview for students in writing scientific papers and be able to apply them well. [hfz]
