As one of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) programs to encourage the growth of the Islamic financial services industry in Indonesia, on Wednesday (24/3) held a Sharia Non-Bank Financial Industry Seminar (IKNB) which was held online through the zoom application. This event is a collaboration between the Directorate of Sharia IKNB-OJK and STEI SEBI through the sharia banking study program. Participants who took part in this seminar were STEI SEBI students and also members of the STEI SEBI academic community.
Through a letter sent by the OJK to the head of the STEI SEBI sharia banking study program, it was stated that this seminar had several objectives, including to explain the role of the OJK in developing Islamic IKNB in Indonesia and provide understanding to students and lecturers regarding sharia IKNB products.
On this occasion, the event was opened by Kris Ibnu Roosmawati as the director of the Islamic IKNB. One of the staff of the OJK sharia IKNB Directorate, namely Zuwinda Zera, who was one of the speakers delivered material related to sharia IKNB products, he also explained how the difference between conventional insurance and sharia accounting. "In general, the difference between conventional insurance and sharia insurance lies in the transfer of risk to conventional insurance and the awareness of insurance participants to help each other in Islamic insurance," he explained. Apart from Zuwinda, two other speakers were also present, namely Hendro Wibowo (Permanent Lecturer at STEI SEBI) and Asadulloh Sefnado (Head of the subdivision of the OJK sharia IKNB Directorate).
As a token of appreciation for the organizing committee for the participants who were present and active in the discussion session, the committee distributed e-certificates and also dorprise which will be sent to the lucky participants. This certainly encouraged the participants to be able to listen to the material presented by the speakers and be able to follow the event until it was finished.
